We are born in relationships, we are wounded in relationships, and we heal in relationships.

At Beyond Closed Doors Therapy, I aim to provide a safe, supportive space for relational healing. A space where healing and growth can take root—so you can deepen connection, strengthen emotional bonds, and create lasting, meaningful change.

About Me

  • I’m from Long Island, New York, and I’ve mostly called Virginia home since 2018. I bring a Northern directness with a Southern pace—which means in therapy, you’ll get honesty, warmth, and the space to take things one step at a time.
  • I studied Sociology and Human Development at SUNY Geneseo, where I first fell in love with systems thinking. Later, at Smith College, I earned my Master’s in Clinical Social Work and learned how to turn that curiosity into care. Since then, I’ve worked in schools, non-profits, and private practice, always with a focus on relationships and family systems.
  • I share my home office with my two dogs, Kaine and Roscoe, and my two cats, Luna and Nova. They’ve mastered the art of mid-session naps, and their occasional snores sometimes make a cameo in therapy. They’re a reminder that therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or formal—it can be warm, human, and even a little imperfect in the best ways.
  • When I’m not in session, I’m probably wandering a thrift store, rescuing a wilting houseplant, or spending time researching my next new hobby.

My approach to Therapy is relational, attachment-focused, and infused with warmth and curiosity. I blend clinical training with lived experience, offering support that’s as grounded as it is growth-oriented.

  • I’m trained in evidence-based approaches, including Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) for families impacted by substance use, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and Gottman’s Bringing Baby Home program for new parents. At the same time, I leave the door open for laughter, imperfect metaphors, and creating a space where you can be authentically you.

  • I also know what it’s like to love someone impacted by substance use, and to feel those ripples in my own life. These experiences showed me how the impact extends far beyond the individual, touching families, partners, and friends who carry the weight of worry and heartbreak. That perspective has strengthened my commitment to helping clients explore how substance (mis)use affects relationships and family systems, while also making space for their own healing and growth.

Whether you’re trying to understand old patterns, heal relationship wounds, or create new ways of connecting, I’ll meet you where you are—with honesty, compassion, and the belief that healing often begins simply by opening the door.

I provide teletherapy services to folks in Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

Beyond Closed Doors Therapy

Trust

I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where every part of the client is welcomed. I believe that belonging begins with being seen and accepted, for every part of you.

Guidance & Support

With specialized training in addiction-informed therapy, attachment , and family systems, I support clients through complex relational challenges helping them to rebuild trust in themselves and others.

Community

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation and you can't break off parts of identity and experiences. I approach every client with curiosity, openness, and respect.

Intentional Healing

I support clients in navigating the pain of past wounds while building skills to create more secure, connected, and authentic relationships.

Compassion & Integrity

My work is rooted in trauma-informed and shame-aware care, ensuring that therapy is grounded in intention and respect.

Growth & Healing

Relationships can be repaired, and cycles can be broken. I aim to help clients unlearn harmful patterns , believe in the capacity for change and the possibility of joy.

By addressing the root causes of conflict and channeling relationship strengths, we can help relationships heal and move forward together. Healing starts within relationships, and therapy should be accessible, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs.

I provide virtual therapy for individuals, couples, and families, with flexible weekday and evening appointments. My practice is a queer- and kink-informed space  where you can show up as your full self—no need to explain or justify your identity or experiences.

Therapy is a space for growth, healing, and connection.
